Welcome to Knight’s Hill Medical Centre
Knight’s Hill Medical Centre was set up in 1997 by Dr Norman Murphy and Dr Fergus O’Connell. Both of these doctors had been in single handed practice here in Mayfield since the early 1970s but in order to improve the services they provided and to do so in a professional environment they combined their resources and re-developed the old residential building Dr Murphy had been practicing from. As a result Knight’s Hill Medical Centre is a spacious, fully wheelchair accessible, fit for purpose Family Medical Centre.
Dr Nicholas O’Keeffe joined the practice in 2007 and when first Dr O’Connell and then Dr Murphy retired he was joined by Dr Aaron Calvin. Dr Margaret Wall took up the role of sessional G.P. with us in June 2026. Dr Ben Fusco and Dr Naail Riaz are our G.P. Registrars.
We have 4 Doctor consulting rooms, a Nurse’s room, waiting room, wheelchair accessible bathrooms and separate reception and administration areas. There is some on street parking and we are only 50 meters from the 208 Bus-stop. We would ask patient’s to be aware that this is a primarily residential area and not to block the gateways and entrances to our neighbour’s homes please. There are several pharmacies nearby, Bourke’s Pharmacy, Hickey’s Pharmacy, Irwin’s Pharmacy and Walsh’s Pharmacy being the closest.
Our aim to is provide as many services as possible here in Knight’s Hill and to keep referrals into the hospitals limited to those that can only be provided in a hospital environment. In addition to general family medicine we provide E.C.G.s, 24 Hour Blood Pressure Monitoring, Spirometry, Cryosurgery, Acupuncture, Travel Vaccines, Seasonal Flu Vaccines, Venesection, Phlebotomy, Implanon, Minor Surgery such as suturing, removal of skin lesions and Ingrown Toenails, Sports Medicine and Specialist Diabetic Nurse clinics. We are registered with all the major healthcare insurance providers such as VHI, LAYA, Irish Life and Glo. We are constantly striving to increase and improve the range of services we can provide in the community and work closely with the H.S.E. in this regard.
We are always interested in hearing what our patients think of the services we provide and welcome and suggestions they may have as to how we can improve.
We always try and provide the best possible care and service to our patients. There may however be times that you feel this has not happened. If you are dissatisfied, or have a complaint, please let us know. We have forms at Reception that you can fill out and hand back in or you can access the form here to print out and fill in at home. You can email these forms to reception@knightshillmedical.ie. We will do our best to respond to any concerns you express in a timely manner.
